Hawaiian honeycreepers project
Birds and Evolution, informational skills,
Choose one of the varies of a Hawaiian Honeycreeper, and make a newsletter about your bird threw their point of view. This must include how they evolve, where they live, what struggles they have, etc. One thing I found challenging about this project was mainly creating the newsletter. Me, being the type of students bad with overthinking things, spent most of my work time creating, deleting, then recreating varies of newsletters wondering if its a good format, if I had the research needed, and most of all DOES IT LOOK GOOD. In the end I had to ask for my sisters help in the format of my newsletter, but all the research, pictures, and writing was done by me. Informational Skills was one of the top criteria you needed to worry about in this project, because its not like you could just copy off of someone else's bird or make up false facts. For me personally, there were only a handful of sites that had the information I was looking for, so that also made up most of my work time. In the end, I learned more about the relations to Evolution like adaptive radiation, and the Bottleneck and Founder effect.
